When you think of comfort and getting a good night sleep you don’t typically think of a bunk bed mattress. Bunk beds are something that we often associate with children, guest rooms, summer camps, or even the military. It is not something we often think of in terms of comfort for adults. Doing what ever you can to get the most of the area you live in can be somewhat challenging and the idea for some people of using a bunk bed to solve some of this sounds appealing, but the traditional idea of comfort is difficult to get past. Shopping for a natural latex mattress has proven to be a real challenge because not all latex mattress vendors are forthcoming about what their latex mattresses are constructed of.  In addition, not all mattress retailers will even know that their latex mattress models are not made from all natural materials.  The reason why it may be hard to distinguish between a natural latex mattress and a synthetic blend of natural latex and synthetic latex, is because a shopper may be inexperienced, plus they haven’t had it in their home to sleep on it.

Most Latex Mattresses Are NOT a Natural Latex Mattress

The general rule is that most latex mattress outlets don’t sell natural latex mattresses.  In fact, most latex mattresses are more cheaply made, combining natural latex with synthetic latex at about a 3 to 7 ratio.  That is, most latex mattresses, if they are not totally synthetic, will be 30% natural latex and 70% synthetic.  This gives them room for a higher margin.  You may be paying for a blended latex mattress, but still have to pay the price of a natural latex mattress.  How fair is that?

Most places that you go to will probably want to sell you on a synthetic latex mattress, but insist on a natural latex mattress, stick your ground, and go elsewhere.  You will be much more satisfied if you don’t settle for anything less than natural latex.  One of the reasons is because they last for so long and are so durable.  If you actually bought a latex mattress that you thought was made from real latex when in fact it wasn’t, you may come to the sad realization that over time your mattress is left with impressions from where your body has repeatedly laid on it, and it will be compressed, not having the elasticity that a natural latex mattress indeed has.

No Fancy Tricks With the Natural Latex Mattress

When you have a natural latex mattress you don’t have to flip it and do all kinds of tricks to try to maintain it and keep it in good working order.  It will have thousands and thousands of tiny pinholes in it, which allow for it to breathe.  This also gives you a much more comfortable sleep, because it pulls the heat away from your body.  Some people get really hot and start sweating during their sleep all because of their mattress, but a natural latex mattress won’t cause this problem for you at all.  You will sleep coolly and comfortably.  Please just make sure when you are shopping for a natural latex mattress that you know exactly what you are paying for and what to expect.
